We take a look at the custom painted Cervelo S5 in the Norwegian national colours of the Team Dimension Data rider. The Cervelo S5 is known for its aerodynamic advantages, equipped with ENVE SES wheels and ENVE finishing kit this bike is designed to cut through the air. Predominantly in a chrome finish, the S5 also sports the Norwegian colours of red, white and blue. Shimano Dura-Ace provides the stopping power and shifting, whilst the Norwegian opts for ROTOR noQ 53-39 chainrings. A KMC chain, Ceramic Speed headset and bottom bracket ensure as many mechanical gains as possible. The bike also features Speedplay pedals, Lizard Skins bar tape and a Fizik saddle, which is set forward substantially on the 54cm frame.ADVERTISEMENT The bladed tubing of the Cervelo contribute to aerodynamic advantages and although clearances are tight, especially on the rear end of the bike, the extra colour on the inside of the seat tube adds to a great finish. Tour of Norway: Boasson Hagen coming back from injuryMay 22, 2015 (21:15) [ Indexed from Cyclingnews.com ] Edvald Boasson Hagen (MTN-Qhubeka) has taken his time to return to racing after he broke his right collarbone in a crash at Gent-Wevelgem in March, but hes back on track at his beloved Tour of Norway " the race promoted by his long time agent Birger Hungerholt. Next weeks Tour des Fjords is more of Alexander Kristoffs affair, and the ASO organized Arctic Race of Norway in August has had Thor Hushovd as an ambassador since its inception in 2013. From my first sprint (third in Sarpsborg behind Kristoff and Australian sensation Caleb Ewan -ed), Ive felt good so I hope to be up there on GC after the two hard stages to come, Boasson Hagen told Cyclingnews ahead of stage 3 overlooking the sea in Langesund. Seven days after my crash, I was able to train on rollers and it took me seventeen days only until I was able to ride my bike outside. For one month, Ive remained at home training in Oslo and around, although it wasnt pain free. Thats the reason why I didnt rush to racing again. I preferred to have some time to train properly. The initial plan was to take a break after Paris-Roubaix and resume racing at the Tour of Norway, so we kept that plan despite the crash. Before Gent-Wevelgem (a race he won in 2009 at the age of 21 and still the only classic on his record book), I was feeling stronger than in previous years, added the Norwegian who finished tenth in Milan-San Remo this year. I watched some of the classics. Kristoff was impressive.ADVERTISEMENT Boasson Hagen admitted a long time rivalry with his compatriot who was his teammate only for one season at Maxbo-Bianchi (the team now called Joker) in 2007. Weve always been fighting each other, the versatile rider from Lillehammer said. When one of us won a race, the other one wanted to win as well. Weve always been really close in terms of level. I was better than him before, hes better than me now, its pretty normal, but I havent lost any motivation. I still want to try and win every race I start. Our performances help cycling get bigger every year in Norway, Boasson Hagen continued. It started with Thor, Kurt [Asle Arvesen] and me. Now everyone here knows the Tour de France and many Norwegians come out to watch races on the road sides. Even on working days, its popular and its very successful on TV too. The Tour of Norway is the beginning of his lead up to the Tour de France. Tour des Fjords, Critrium du Dauphin and national championships are next on his agenda. I want to start winning some races again, he said. Hopefully Ill do it before the Tour de France and also during the Tour de France. My condition will get better and better by July. It feels good to be back and hopefully I can show it. I dont know the composition of the MTN-Qhubeka team for the Tour yet but we wont have a GC rider and therell be opportunities for breakaways. We have strong riders for different scenarios.

Fractured collarbone for Boasson HagenMarch 31, 2015 (03:45) [ Indexed from Cyclingnews.com ] MTN-Qhubeka's spring classics campaign has taken a hit with confirmation that Edvald Boasson Hagen fractured his right clavicle at Gent-Wevelgem, ruling him out of the Tour of Flanders and Paris-Roubaix. The Norweigan was the team's best finisher at Milano-Sanremo in tenth place which he followed up with 19th at E3 Harelbeke as he approached his first major goal of the season, Paris-Roubaix. However his crash in Moeren, resulting in a distal fracture, has ruled the 27-year-old out of racing for the next month. "In a weather affected and dangerous race Edvald was involved in a crash," said team doctor Dr Jarrad van Zuydam. "He made impact with a pole on the side of the road and has sustained a fracture of the outside portion of his right clavicle."ADVERTISEMENT There will be no surgery for Boasson Hagen who will instead let the injury heal naturally. The 2009 winner ofGent-Wevelgem was to be a protected rider at the two upcoming cobbled monuments which he will now miss. A return date to racing is yet to be announced. "Paris-Roubaix was obviously one of the main goals of Edvald's spring campaign," said the team's performance manager Jens Zemke. "He was coming into shape and was very focussed on performing well in the upcoming cobbled monuments." Gerald Ciolek was the only MTN-Qhubeka rider to finish Gent-Wevelgem, crossing the line in 25th place.

Hushovd discouraged Boasson Hagen from signing with Tinkoff-SaxoFebruary 12, 2015 (13:45) [ Indexed from Cyclingnews.com ] Thor Hushovd has revealed he advised Edvald Boasson Hagen not to join Tinkoff-Saxo for the 2015 season, convincing him that the MTN-Qhubeka team would be the best option to restart his career after a lean final year at Team Sky. I said: Edvald, you shouldn't sign for Tinkoff. I think it is the wrong choice. If you do, then I'll give you a slap, Hushovd revealed to TV2 Norway. The reason for his opposition to the idea? With the image of Bjarne Riis and the team, in addition Peter Sagan had signed for them, Edvald wouldn't evolve into the rider he was in his best years at Sky, Hushovd argued.ADVERTISEMENT He added, I do not think the image of Tinkoff could be reconciled with how Edvald is as a person. I probably should not have mixed in, but I only want the best for Edvald, Hushovd continued. He is a straight through a good guy, and I know from my own career that such choices are difficult. I told him about my history from the time of Cervelo, which like MTN Qhubeka was a small and unknown team. To go there was the best choice I've made in my career. Boasson Hagen never said why he turned down what seemed to be a sure contract with Tinkoff-Saxo, angering team owner Oleg Tinkov. He seemed unconcerned about dropping to Professional Continental, saying, Its going to be a good team with a good bunch of riders so its something to look forward to. Ive been with Team Sky for five years now and Ive enjoyed it but its time to try something different.
